Home Care: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] Dail Éireann — 2022-11-08 ============================================================ Catherine Connolly (IND), Galway West We have tolerated a system where women have been treated very badly. I will run out of time very quickly, but the figures are incredible. I will finish with the example of Clifden District Hospital. We will always need beds, respite beds and step-down facilities. That it could be contemplated that this facility would be closed is simply intolerable. I know things have progressed a tiny bit but we were given many different contradictory excuses, such as that hands were tied by the union, there was a lack of staff and a lack of demand. Yet, all of the time, there were beds in the hospital being occupied. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
