Tribunal of Inquiry into certain matters relating to the Complaints Processes in the Defence Forces: Motion Dail Éireann — 2024-01-24 ============================================================ Marian Harkin (IND), Sligo-Leitrim If it is, I would be happy for the Tánaiste to read it to me and I would be a bit more satisfied than I am now. I support the Sinn Féin amendment, in particular the amendment on complaints regarding hazardous chemicals. I support the request to investigate if complaints on the use of hazardous chemicals were deterred on the basis of the lack of personal protective equipment or chemical awareness training and, crucially, to investigate the health, mortality and disability consequences for civilian and military personnel, their partners and children arising from any hazardous chemical exposure. I think this gap may not be unbridgeable and I ask the Tánaiste to do all in his power to bridge the gap that is there. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
