Housing Schemes Dail Éireann — 2024-01-31 ============================================================ Niall Collins (FF), Limerick County Supply, which is key to addressing our housing needs, is increasing. The Government's Housing for All plan is having a real impact. More homes are being built and bought than in a generation, providing people with housing options they did not have when the plan was published two years ago. While Government has already introduced an increase of €5,000 in the baseline social housing income thresholds for all local authorities since January 2023, detailed research was required to develop options for a revised new social housing income eligibility model. As outlined, the exercise will examine the existing income limits in the context of current market and population conditions and the suitability or otherwise of the current framework, having regard to the significant changes in the landscape since it was introduced. The Department of housing will undertake a further review, including consultation with stakeholders, and this review will examine how the social housing income limits interact with other housing supports. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
