An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business Dail Éireann — 2024-02-20 ============================================================ Simon Coveney (FG), Cork South-Central I thank the Deputy for raising that issue. As he knows, I am pretty familiar with that part of Cork. There has been enormous damage since the floods happened a number of months ago. We tried to put the largest ever funding package in place to support businesses that have been hit by effectively redesigning a new scheme for extreme flood damage. However, there is, of course, significant infrastructural damage as well that Cork County Council has to repair and for which it ultimately has to pick up the bill. The way this works is that Cork County Council needs to itemise the infrastructural damage that has happened as a result of that storm and then make a submission to Government on assisting with the cost of that repair work. I understand we are awaiting that detail from Cork County Council but when we get that the Government will be in a position to consider it. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
