Health (Termination of Pregnancy Services) (Safe Access Zones) Bill 2023: Report and Final Stages Seanad Éireann — 2024-05-01 ============================================================ Sharon Keogan (IND), Industrial and Commercial Panel To tell the truth I am a little disappointed. I thank my colleague, Senator Rónán Mullen, and all the Independent colleagues in the Dáil who put down amendments to this legislation. I would like to see the Minister being a Minister for young pregnant girls and women who find themselves pregnant, to encourage them to have their children, and to put in place policies that will make their lives better. I would like the Minister to be that champion for those girls and for those young women as well. Perhaps the Minister will look into his heart and find that is something he might be able to bring forth as the Minister for Health. What can the Minister do to make better policies to encourage young women to keep their babies and to grow their families? What policies can be put in place by this Government to support families and support young women who find themselves pregnant? --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
