Report of the Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment: Motion Dail Éireann — 2024-05-02 ============================================================ Dara Calleary (FF), Mayo I covered all the main issues in my opening remarks. I thank the Deputies. Deputy Boyd Barrett's remarks are probably outside the scope of the report in terms of the enterprise opportunities. MARA has been established for offshore planning and has responsibilities there. To Deputy Stanton's point on skills, that is something we are focused on. Working with the Minister, Deputy O'Donovan, and the team in that Department through Skillnet, we are looking to make sure we have the necessary skills in place across many facets, including digital and traditional skills. I commend groups such as ATU, which are doing good work with fishing communities. There is a fantastic centre in Killybegs, County Donegal, looking at the prospects there and at adapting existing skills. We need a step change in ambition. That is why we have the plan within the Department. We have the action plan and are resolutely focused on delivering it. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
