Third Level Fees Dail Éireann — 2024-06-25 ============================================================ David Stanton (FG), Cork East This question was sparked by the real-life experience of a former constituent who is now living outside the European Union. He contacted me to say that his son, who was born in 2004, would like to come back to Ireland to go to college. His son has an Irish PPS number, an Irish bank account, and an Irish passport, but because he is living abroad he will have to pay non-EU fees, which are very expensive. He told me other countries in the European Union make an exception for their citizens who are living abroad to come back and not have to pay these very high fees. Has the Minister given any consideration to making changes in this regard? --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
