An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business Seanad Éireann — 2024-10-09 ============================================================ Catherine Ardagh (FF), Industrial and Commercial Panel I am really proud to be a member of the joint committee and Senator Carrigy has done unbelievable work. Obviously the report encompasses early intervention, school places and meaningful employment. The most important thing is that people with autism and their families live in an inclusive society where people understand the difficulties because I think we are still really far behind. A lot of people just do not understand the difficulties experienced when you have a child with autism or other disabilities because that limits what you can do. I thank Senator Carrigy for ensuring a lot of people did the autism training. One of the best things to happen in these Houses is that we are now an autism-friendly Parliament. I am proud to have played a tiny part in all of this but huge kudos and congratulations go to Micheál. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
