Middle East Dail Éireann — 2024-10-10 ============================================================ Catherine Connolly (IND), Galway West My question specifically relates to Israel's presence in settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory in the West Bank. I am asking what the Tánaiste is going to do about the advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice which states that member states, including Ireland, are under a positive obligation "to abstain from treaty relations with Israel in all cases in which it purports to act on behalf of the Occupied Palestinian Territory" and "to abstain from entering into economic or trade dealings with Israel". It is set out in the question I have tabled. I ask the Tánaiste to deal with that specifically in the context of the Control of Economic Activity (Occupied Territories) Bill, which is waiting to be passed through the Dáil. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
