An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business Dail Éireann — 2024-11-05 ============================================================ Thomas Pringle (IND), Donegal On behalf of the Independent Group, I echo the calls by the other groups on the occupied territories Bill. In order to facilitate a debate on Committee Stage I put forward a procedural motion for it to be taken after the Order of Business, which would allow Committee Stage of the Bill to go ahead. The Taoiseach should do the right thing and allow the Bill to proceed through Committee Stage in the next few days and make sure it is passed before the election because I know, unfortunately - as does the Taoiseach if he would only admit it - that if we wait until the next Government it will be five years down the line and we will still be waiting for it. That is the reality of the situation. The Government should do it now when the whole Dáil is in favour of it. It should put it through committee and we can pass it before tomorrow night. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
