Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation Dail Éireann — 2020-11-04 ============================================================ Micheál Martin (FF), Cork South-Central First of all, the election is not over. The last time I listened to coverage of it was early this morning and it seemed the race was going to be very tight and there were many votes yet to be counted. The United States is one of the oldest democracies in the world. It has always managed its elections in a peaceful and democratic way and I have no doubt that this will also be the case on this occasion. We should not jump to conclusions. It is a fraught time for all of those involved in the election. It is a tense time, given how close it is. The sensible thing to do is to allow the electoral process in the United States to take its course. We will see, perhaps later this week, who has actually won the election. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
