An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business Dail Éireann — 2025-06-24 ============================================================ Louise O'Reilly (SF), Dublin Fingal West There are people in my constituency living in homes that are falling down around their ears. Their homes are literally falling apart. People are doing their best in terms of minor repairs to stop bits of the walls and roof from falling down. The Remediation of Dwellings Damaged by the Use of Defective Concrete Blocks Act 2022 allows for country councils to be admitted to the remediation scheme. My local authority, Fingal County Council, applied in September 2023. My understanding is that the Housing Agency report, which was the latest impediment identified by the Government to my constituents being admitted to the scheme, is now with the Minister for housing. The responses we get when we ask questions tell us that it will happen shortly, in the future or perhaps in a while. Will the Taoiseach engage with the Minister for housing to ensure people can access this scheme? As I have said, their houses are literally falling down around their ears. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
