Finance Bill 2025 [Certified Money Bill]: Committee Stage Seanad Éireann — 2025-12-09 ============================================================ Conor Murphy (SF), Industrial and Commercial Panel Sinn Féin will of course oppose this section in its entirety. This section very clearly displays where the Government's priorities lie. The Bill does not aim to assist ordinary workers; rather it is those who are already comfortably off who get the big breaks. There are tax cuts in this budget which are not for the ordinary man or woman going out to work every day. The people who are getting them are those who can avail of the special assignee relief programme, SARP. The previous Minister for Finance, and I assume the current Minister stands over it, has guaranteed €60 million in taxpayers' money to help them. These workers, who have to be earning over €125,000 and up to €1 million will get a tax cut of up to €100,000. That really beggars' belief given the circumstances that many families across this State currently face. We oppose this section of the Bill and intend to vote against it. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
