I am very happy to do that. The establishment of the National Claims Information Database, NCID, has greatly improved oversight of claims' costs and trends in the insurance market. Indeed, it is one of the most comprehensive and respected insurance data sources internationally. The Central Bank of Ireland, which was tasked with developing and operating the NCID, has advised my Department that operating profit comprises total income with tax, interest costs, and any other expenses deducted. This is fully consistent with previous NCID reports and ensures alignment with other reporting requirements for insurance undertakings issued by the Central Bank. However, my officials have contacted the Central Bank of Ireland and sought the additional information so as to assist with the Deputy's question, some of which I will put on the record. I can provide the Deputy with the operating profits for the liability insurance market.
