An príomhrud atá ag cur imní ar dhaoine ná cén cosaint a mbeidh ag bainteoirí feamainne traidisiúnta sa reachtaíocht nua. Dúradh in 2018 go raibh cosaint ann ach anois níl sé soiléir go bhfuil nó, níos measa fós, breathnaíonn sé ar nós nach bhfuil cosaint ann dóibh. Impím ar an Taoiseach breathnú ar an gceist seo agus oibriú le lucht bainte feamainne chun an ceart seo a chosaint, chomh maith leo siúd a bhfuil cearta fóilió acu.
I am raising seaweed harvesting. The recent application by a large company for seaweed harvesting rights has caused huge concern. It is a very sensitive topic because it is a core Irish tradition. Traditional harvesters had been given complete assurances their rights would be protected but there is serious concern this is no longer the case in the new legislation. Will the Government work with traditional harvesters as well as those with folio rights to ensure their rights are protected?
