Social Welfare Bill 2020: Committee and Remaining Stages Dail Éireann — 2020-12-09 ============================================================ Heather Humphreys (FG), Cavan-Monaghan I am not clear what the Deputy is asking. Many young people have obviously been impacted by the pandemic and have accessed the PUP. We will have an intensive programme to help them to get back to work, whether through upskilling, reskilling, job placement programmes or whatever. We want to try to get those people back to work as quickly as we can. I made the point that jobseekers under 25 years of age who have qualified children, those who were in the care of the HSE immediately before they turned 18 and those who are in receipt of housing supports in their own right and living independent of the family home, for example on rent allowance or HAP, are not subject to the reduced rate of jobseeker's allowance. I am not sure if that was the point that the Deputy wanted me to clarify. Perhaps that brings some clarity to matters. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
