Special Educational Needs Dail Éireann — 2026-04-23 ============================================================ Michael Moynihan (FF), Cork North-West I appeal to James's family and the councillor to make sure they are engaging with the NCSE, like we have over many years within the NCSE. We are building up the expertise within the council to liaise with families. It is hugely important that we have what is needed on the ground dealing with families and challenges within the school communities. However, in the first instance it is important that James's mom is engaging with the council because it is the important conduit between the families and the school communities. It is always easier to give the carte blanche but this is a very challenging question the Deputy keeps referring to. It is important that the Department and the NCSE keep the matter under review but the school community should listen very carefully as well to the guidance they are being given and that they should utilise everything within the new school building at Stapolin Educate Together National School. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
