Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation Dail Éireann — 2026-04-29 ============================================================ Brian Brennan (FG), Wicklow-Wexford I want to discuss a live issue relating to Gorey Hill School and plans the Department of education has in respect of lands currently being used by Gaelscoil Moshíológ and the Irish play school on the site. I preface my remarks by stating that the three schools in question play an essential and hugely positive role in the community of north Wexford, which is a credit to the management, the staff and the students. Gorey is a prosperous town and a victim of its own success. We continue to witness a surge in population there. What is needed is increased capacity in Gorey Hill School, but this simply cannot come at the expense of the Gaelscoil and the play school. I am asking that the Minister for education and officials from her Department meet the three schools involved, listen to their concerns and not put on the table again the quick-fix solution that is currently there. What we need is a long-term solution for the schools and the children of Gorey and north Wexford. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
