An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business Seanad Éireann — 2026-09-22 ============================================================ Garret Ahearn (FG), Administrative Panel Thanks very much, a Chathaoirligh. May I also be associated with your comments about former Senator Enda Bonner, who served his community in Donegal very well, especially Glenties? He was a Senator for five years from 1997 to 2002. All our thoughts are with Phyllis and his family at this difficult time. As you said, a Chathaoirligh, we acknowledge Senator Craughwell on the very sad passing of Helen during the summer. I think we all knew it was going to be a difficult summer. I know that looking above, she would be delighted that you, Senator, are back where you love being and putting pressure on us. We were thinking of you during the summer; we all were. The Order of Business is No. 72(6), motion regarding the notice of a vacancy in the membership of Seanad Éireann, to be taken on the conclusion of the Order of Business without debate; No. 1, motion regarding the arrangements for the address to Seanad Éireann by MEPs representing the European Parliament Dublin constituency on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 to be taken on the conclusion of No. 72(6) without debate; No. 2, Public Health (Tobacco Products and Nicotine Inhaling Products) (Amendment) Bill 2026 - Second Stage, to be taken at 4 p.m. and to conclude at 5.30 p.m. if not previously concluded, with the time allocated to the opening remarks of the Minister not to exceed ten minutes, group spokespersons not to exceed eight minutes, all other Senators not to exceed five minutes and the Minister to be given no less than ten minutes to reply to the debate; and Nos. 3 and 4, motions regarding proposed approval by Seanad Éireann of a proposal for a Council Decision on the conclusion of the agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Korea on the transfer of passenger name record data for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorist offences and serious crime; and proposed approval by Seanad Éireann of a proposal for a Council Decision on the signing on behalf of the European Union of the agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Korea on the transfer of passenger name record data for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorist offences and serious crime, to be taken at 5.30 p.m. and to conclude after 60 minutes, if not previously concluded, the motions shall be discussed together with the time allocated to the opening remarks of the Minister not to exceed five minutes, all Senators not to exceed five minutes and the Minister to be given no less than five minutes to reply to the debate.
