Covid-19 (Foreign Affairs and Trade): Statements Dail Éireann — 2020-06-03 ============================================================ Simon Coveney (FG), Cork South-Central I think I have said a number times today that I share the concerns and outrage in this House in the context of what has unfolded in recent days in the US. I have also said that the most appropriate way for Ireland to respond to these issues is to look at itself and make sure that we are credible when we criticise internationally. We should be vocal internationally, but we do have to take a look at ourselves and seek to identify where racism is still an issue that marginalises people in Ireland. We must work hard to resolve issues that result in marginalisation and racism in our own country. I was asked a straight question as to whether I had spoken to Ambassador Crawford and I gave a straight answer. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
