Covid-19 (Brexit): Statements Dail Éireann — 2020-06-11 ============================================================ Cian O'Callaghan (SD), Dublin Bay North What I am asking is whether these attempts to change the wording are an attempt by the UK to backtrack. I appreciate that, if we do end up in a no-deal situation, the protocol will remain in place. However, if the UK Government is trying to revise it, are we in a situation where we are quite exposed with the Northern Ireland protocol and the consequences that can have for us with regard to the integrity of our produce and goods and the integrity of the Single Market? Does the Minister of State not accept that the UK's attempts to change the wording from "at risk" to goods where there is a "genuine and substantial risk", which in technical terms is a clear difference, is an attempt at backtracking? I have a final question after the Minister of State replies. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
