Address to Seanad Éireann by Members of the European Parliament Seanad Éireann — 2021-09-22 ============================================================ Pauline O'Reilly (GP), Labour Panel Time is running out so the responses will be brief, but I want to go back to my original question and thoughts on us as global citizens and our global responsibility. Mr. Markey has spoken very passionately about the comments by Ursula von der Leyen, which were of concern to me personally because of our history of pacifism. That has given me some comfort. I wish to address the TRIPS waiver. Several others here have signed a letter which was sent to the Taoiseach supporting a TRIPS waiver. What is the stance of the MEPs on that? The other point I raised in my original contribution concerns Mercosur. I would welcome if the MEPs had some comments on it because it has consequences for the environment and also for agriculture here. What are their thoughts on that? --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
