Health Insurance (Amendment) Bill 2021: Second Stage Seanad Éireann — 2021-12-15 ============================================================ Lorraine Clifford-Lee (FF), Nominated by the Taoiseach I thank the Minister of State. As she has outlined, this is a very short technical Bill and we are in here every year renewing it. It is very welcome that the stamp duty on medical insurance is reducing. The measure should put money back into the pockets of the people who have health insurance next year. At a time when inflation is rising substantially the measure is very welcome. This leads on from the announcement yesterday that all householders next year will have their electricity bill reduced. I hope that the medical insurance companies will look at their own processes to see if they can give an even bigger reduction back to people next year in their premiums. I thank the Minister of State and she has our full support. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
