Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation Dail Éireann — 2021-12-16 ============================================================ Neale Richmond (FG), Dublin Rathdown I raise a difficult case on which I have been working all week. It relates to a constituent who simply has not been able to access particular services for an eating disorder. I give thanks for the efforts of the office of the Minister of State, Deputy Butler, and even more welcome has been the wider funding. The issue is being resolved. However, this is a clear case of an individual and a family who have been caught between the stools. The person in question is over 16 but under 18. There has been a failure within the health service to apply an element of flexibility, common sense and joined-up thinking. As I said, this case has now, thankfully, been resolved, largely due to the efforts of the Minister of State, Deputy Butler. However, there are dozens if not hundreds of young people throughout this country who are facing these barriers every day. We need to resolve the issue as soon as possible. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas. Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
