(1) Where a member of the Garda Síochána finds a person in a public place and suspects, with reasonable cause, that such person— (a) intends to breach any of the provisions of sections 3 or 4 of this Act, (b) is about to breach any of the provisions of sections 3 or 4 of this Act, or (c) is attempting to breach the provisions of sections 3 or 4 of this Act, the member may direct the person to leave immediately that place and the vicinity thereof in a peaceable and orderly manner. (2) It shall be an offence for any person, without reasonable excuse, to fail to comply with a direction given by a member of the Garda Síochána under this section. (3) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding €1,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or both.". --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
