We should be more positive in proposing it.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 105 of 752 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

We should be more positive in proposing it.
I thank the Taoiseach. It is an unprecedented number of advisers. I would say it is the highest in the history of the State. When the Taoiseach was in opposition he asked an awful lot of questions, as did his colleagues, as to why they were all required. The Taoiseach has gone and beaten the record. It includes 16 names, as the Taoiseach has outlined, I do not believe that this includes some other drivers. On top of that there are other offices. If you add in those who are working in secretarial roles, assistant ro…
It was a good idea.
I dropped my own children to primary school this morning and was speaking to my wife, who is a teacher in another school in Nenagh, at lunchtime and the volume of children and teachers who are out of school is something that all Deputies are experiencing and hearing about and it is the same thing across the country. We need to work together to try to find as many solutions as we can. On antigen testing the Ferguson report recommended it last April. I presume the Government is open to tweaking the system because it …
The Taoiseach might clarify to the House that the proposal going out to primary schools is that face masks will be mandatory, and not advisory, from third class up. I ask the Taoiseach to clarify that because there is a lot of confusion out there, as I stand here. There is a different view about the matter. Will legislation on the Limerick mayoral election be passed early next year? Will the election go ahead after the summer break next year? Will the Taoiseach finally put this matter to bed? A number of councillor…
What about the Limerick mayor?
Okay, good stuff.
I am just asking the Taoiseach to clarify it.
It is mandatory, however.
I want to put on record that I have a small interest in a racing greyhound. For many, this is a sport of working-class people. It is a sport that has gone on for generations. The vast majority of people in both these industries have contributed hugely, locally and socially, and look after their animals, be that in horse racing or greyhound racing. I have spoken to many of them. In the county I live in, they are on every corner. They feel the equity of distribution of this fund needs to be looked at, particularly re…
I commend my colleagues, Deputies Duncan Smith and Bacik, on bringing this Bill forward. It is an excellent Bill coming the week after a very disappointing COP26. This Bill is a way to ensure greenwashing by large corporations is tackled once and for all. Companies and producers now want to come across as being as green as possible, but the reality is very few of us can really know the true carbon cost of most things we buy in supermarkets or any other stores. Millions are being spent on marketing and public relati…
I have been in this House a few years and have never accused anyone of telling porkies, let alone the Taoiseach. I asked him about schools yesterday because I am genuinely concerned about them. My colleague, Deputy Ó Ríordáin, has been articulating those concerns for some time. When I spoke to the Taoiseach after Taoiseach's Questions, I said that schools will be additionally affected by the new five-day rule. I have young kids and my wife is a teacher. The Taoiseach told me that teachers are exempt. He knows that.…
That is right.
And I about the Taoiseach.
Is that a threat?
That is good.
I asked the Taoiseach about those things over there.
The Taoiseach told me that. If we wants to call me a liar, call me a liar.
What is the difference between a misconstruction and a lie? Was it a misconstruction? You are not denying you said those words.
Was it a misconstruction? You are calling me a liar so.
