On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 105 of 752 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Can we boost them?
Jesus, how did the Ceann Comhairle miss him?
I will flag two matters. The High Court in Belfast has ruled that the situation with regard to North-South ministerial meetings is unlawful. Does the Taoiseach have any update on that? The second issue I will raise sometimes goes under the radar. Yesterday, it was made official that a public inquiry is to be held in Northern Ireland to investigate mother and baby homes, Magdalen laundries and workhouses in the region. The deputy First Minister and the First Minister have already assured survivors that legislation w…
Enhanced medical cards are being refused. The Taoiseach might clarify that.
That does not make it an enhanced medical card, so it might be necessary-----
The Taoiseach is contradicting what has been said outside.
Yes. I am glad the Taoiseach is clarifying it.
Enhanced.
Okay.
The new Garda divisions coming into place are downright mental. They make no sense in some areas. The one in Cork is particularly bad. The one in my area of Clare and Limerick, from Ballyvaughan to Carrick-on-Suir, is insane. The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors, AGSI, has raised this issue and said that it will not be able to administer the area. We also have a situation where the headquarters has been taken out of Thurles and moved to Ennis. Therefore, Galway, Ennis and Limerick are headquarters, but…
We support the minority report.
The Garda divisions are insane.
This has nothing to do with the policing commission.
The Finance Bill going through the House provides for a new zoned land tax to replace the vacant site levy, which should be collected properly in the meantime. However, the zoned land tax will apply only to serviced land and not to land with planning permission in place. We will have to wait another year for a vacant homes tax. Our party is calling for the zoned land tax to apply much more broadly. Limiting it to serviced land restricts its usefulness, especially if planning permission is in place for housing. Ther…
This will be a very serious weekend for the world, as eyes turn to COP26 in anticipation of what the outcome will be. Our former President, Mary Robinson, made an emotional appeal to world leaders yesterday for more ambitious action to be taken. She is right; we cannot negotiate with science or facts. This is on our watch. If we do not radically act to reduce our carbon emissions, temperatures will rise by more than 1.5°C. I want to see a better future for my children, Aoibhe and Senan. I am sure the Minister wants…
We should never have got to the point where Huntstown and Whitegate were down at this critical juncture. The Minister knows that, in fairness. He did not answer the question I asked. Are we potentially losing inward investment? I have huge time for IDA Ireland. Mr. Martin Shanahan has done a superb job at IDA Ireland. He has warned, in submissions to the CRU, EirGrid and others, that attracting inward investment is now at huge risk because of the situation we have as regards the grid and access to it. As I could ha…
The position with regard to some of the new Garda divisional headquarters and areas is mental. I do not say that lightly. It is crazy. The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors, AGSI, has brought to my attention issues with new divisions in Cork, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Laois, Offaly and Kildare. The one relating to my county is insane. The headquarters are in Ennis in County Clare. There are headquarters in Limerick, Ennis and Galway. A lot of business is done in and large volumes of traffic go …
I was deeply sorry to learn of the death of Austin Currie late yesterday evening. He will be remembered, above all, as a politician of conviction and somebody who stood up and was counted and never, in a long career, allowed any form of intimidation to get in his way. He showed huge courage as he strived to bring peace to our island through his service to the people he represented, uniquely, both North and South on this island. As one of the founders of the Social and Democratic Labour Party alongside John Hume, Ge…
I ask about the ongoing booster programme. I support what it delivers for over-60s, under-60s who are compromised and, when we have European Medicines Agency, EMA, approval, hopefully children as well. Does the Taoiseach believe we will have a booster programme for the remaining population early next year? Would he support that? Will he ask the national immunisation advisory committee, NIAC, to bring forward a decision on that before Christmas so the infrastructure in place for the programme can be maintained after…
