I wish to ask the Minister, once again, for an update on the development of a much needed Garda station which is planned for the Dublin 13-Dublin 17 area.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 60 of 482 decisive votes (5 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

This is positive with regard to planning permission potentially being sought in 2024 and Coolock Garda station potentially being transferred to or acquired by Dublin City Council. This is interesting. The Minister will note that I always get the same answer with regard to the Garda Commissioner. I raise this issue as often as I possibly can. It is a large expanding community. We have made the same mistakes over and over again in the course of the history of the State where we have a large growth in population and w…
I am given to understand that we are losing Coolock Garda station. This new divisional headquarters will mean that Coolock Garda station will no longer exist and this will be the new headquarters. It will be bigger and will have more resources. People have a traditional relationship with a Garda station and interact with it. They know where it is and they know how it operates. The Minister did not listen.
The Government's solution is homelessness.
The Minister of State is gas. She is hilarious. It is really entertaining.
Hear, hear.
It is not working out.
The Government is taking it away from them in three days.
Is the Minister going to get to the issue of homelessness at any point in this contribution?
Will the Minister talk about homelessness?
No, I have not, actually.
The only people who have objected to social housing where I live are Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil Deputies. The Minister knows that.
There were 88 social housing units in Coolock objected to by Fine Gael.
Fine Gael objected to social housing in my constituency.
The Minister should talk about homelessness then. Start talking about homelessness.
The Minister will not speak to the issue.
Fine Gael has objected to 12,000 houses since 2019.
This is unbelievable.
Has the Deputy ever met Catherine Noone? She hates social housing.
