On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 439 decisive votes (9 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Tá rud amháin cinnte domsa inniu agus is é sin gurb é seo mo lá deireanach i nDáil Éireann. Ba mhaith liom a rá go bhfuil mé an-bhuíoch de gach duine a thug cabhair agus tacaíocht dom trí na blianta. Tá mé an-dóchasach go mbeidh Councillor Hazel de Nortúin ina suí anseo tar éis an olltoghcháin. I thank the staff of the Oireachtas. They are incredibly generous with their time and their help. No matter what department or where you look for help in this House, you get it 100%. I also want to say, however, that I am lo…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

There is €25 billion of a surplus in the economy, with 140,000 people on the housing list, 14,000 to 15,000 people homeless and rising, 1 million people on waiting lists for health care and 700,000 people living below the poverty line. We can throw figures across the floor at each other but these are facts that the Tánaiste does not address. As a left-wing TD and a socialist, I came in here to try to address them, and that is why I talked about the headbanging exercise. The Government is not interested in ending in…

But do not address the inequality. The Tánaiste can talk all he likes about his childhood but he has not addressed the inequality.

Carer's Allowance: Motion [Private Members]

I really appreciate that. A few people did not take their slots so we underestimated the time. This is probably the last time I will speak in the Dáil and I appreciate being allowed to speak on this topic. I thank Sinn Féin for tabling the motion and the carers' association and all the carers out there who do the job they do. It is a job I did for two years when my mother was alive. It is a job I was proud to do, but it is a hard job and it means that people are more or less on call 24-7. That puts carers into a sp…

Industrial Relations (Provisions in Respect of Pension Entitlements of Retired Workers) Bill 2021: Referral to Select Committee [Private Members]

I move: That the Bill be referred to the Select Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment pursuant to Standing Orders 95(3)( a ) and 178(1). It is with honour, on behalf of the retired workers who have campaigned for more than a decade now and are in the Gallery today, that I move this. I am delighted to see the Bill move to Committee Stage. I thank the committee.

Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation

I honestly believe that most people in this country will see the performance of An Taoiseach, Simon Harris, after he left the meeting in Washington with Joe Biden yesterday as woeful, pitiful and feeble. Anyone who was given an opportunity to say to Joe Biden to stop arming Israel would use it. Emmanuel Macron has done so. What is the problem with our Taoiseach not doing so? This morning, the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza has been ordered to evacuate by the Israelis. No doubt they can order and threaten tha…

I am not asking him to answer for his actions. I just want him to answer about the sovereign airspace. I just made that comment.
