I do not know what the Tánaiste is talking about. That is not the argument here.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 439 decisive votes (9 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I do not know what the Tánaiste is talking about. That is not the argument here.
It is just part of my argument. What is the Tánaiste going to do about this?
The Government is disincentivising people by allowing this to happen.
That is because we send our money to Australian infrastructure companies. That is brilliant.
Of course he does.
Is it wise to disincentivise people?
The Government and the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Deputy Eamon Ryan, have praised President Biden's climate action but the reality of his climate policies is quite different. He has approved more oil and gas drilling permits during his term so far than the Trump Administration did. He has sanctioned the Willow project in Alaska, which will see 600 million barrels of oil flow and release more than 9 million metric tonnes of CO2. He has auctioned off 73 million acres of water in the Gul…
I compared him to Trump. He is much worse.
My question is on housing as well. A couple of weeks ago I raised with the Taoiseach the role of gardaí in illegal evictions. There was a very shocking piece on Twitter which Members may have seen. A Dr. Raheel was threatened with an illegal eviction by a very angry and violent landlord who used a chainsaw or some kind of a cutting mechanism, which looked pretty lethal, to get through the door and then threatened him and his family. When the gardaí were called, they said this eviction was a civil matter. I explaine…
I guess the Minister could have a bog-standard speech stashed away in his filing cabinet or computer to pull out at least once per week as we deal with this housing catastrophe. There will continue to be Bills, motions and proposals coming from the Opposition to the Government in Private Members' time to try to highlight and deal with an absolute catastrophe. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have for decades neglected the provision of public housing on public lands. They have left the provision of the country's housing ne…
This is the second time in a month I have had to raise this matter. I still have not got an answer from the Department or the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, who is the last person I raised it with. The Taoiseach mentioned employment regulation orders with regard to childcare. There is an employment regulation order in respect of the security industry. Employment in that industry is low paid and precarious. There are 15,000 workers in the industry. A particular security company has prevented an employmen…
I want to point out that the Dublin Region Homeless Executive sent a circular to councillors in the last week to offer reassurance to HAP, rental accommodation scheme, RAS and other tenants who may be affected by notices of termination. The reassurance they give is that they refer the tenant to Threshold. A HAP tenant can look for alternative accommodation on the rental market. They will assess their social housing needs as a matter of course. Dublin City Council is employing a considerable degree of flexibility in…
The Taoiseach needs to read more left-wing pamphlets.
It should not be for profit.
Like broadband.
Because landlords would leave the market.
The Government has never proven how it causes landlords to leave the market.
We have probably all known for a while now that data centre operators have been developing their own energy capacity in recent years. We are all aware of the danger of the blackouts we were warned would occur over the winter months. These did not happen but the full extent of generation capacity has only recently been learned and revealed. It indicates just how considerable the energy demand of the centres has become. The likes of Microsoft, Amazon and Google, along with other data centres, are organising on-site g…
Data centres do not provide many jobs.
On behalf of People Before Profit, I thank the Labour Party for tabling this motion, which we will be supporting. I specifically wish to say how incredible it is that in the third richest country on the planet, we cannot budget properly for the expansion of our education system and that we are making such a bags - to be frank - of the budgeting for the development of our schools. As has been pointed out to us by the various campaigns, of which there are many throughout the country that will be protesting and campai…
