I would like to correct the record. I meant to refer to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 1,060 of 1,070 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Could your office, a Leas-Ceann Comhairle, facilitate the Members who are on the list in the round next week instead of using the lottery system?
I wish to raise a few issues. The first is the wind energy guidelines, which are grossly outdated given they are 15 years old. We have been promised time and time again that a new iteration of them is on the way. On the eve of the last general election, I think in December 2019, a draft version of the wind energy guidelines made its way into the Dáil and was debated. Along came the general election and the draft was put on ice. It never happened and it still has not happened. We are a long way down the road and the…
I am glad to support the Bill. The merits of the Bill speak for themselves and it should be roundly supported in the House. I want to make a number of points. A new strategy paper is to be published later this month on offshore wind. I hear there will be segregation between anchored east coast offshore wind turbines versus their floating counterparts off the Atlantic coastline. This is understandable. They are two very different pieces of infrastructure. With regard to their progression through the regulatory syste…
There is nothing wrong with crows.
I welcome this legislation, but the discussion has been quite broad. I, too, will speak about the planning system more generally. I have to confess, at the outset, that I am one of the 30,000 or so people with an application before An Bord Pleanála at the moment. We are trying to build a family home. I will say no more about that, but I should declare it on the record of the Dáil. I think it is wrong that, for a €20 objection fee, a person can take a project through the ringer. It could be a project to build a fami…
I apologise for naming the person I just named, but I will continue.
The objector to whom I referred is based 190 km from Clonlara, County Clare, where crucial flood defences are needed. He is 170 km from the Killaloe Bridge crossing and 280 km from Doonbeg coastal defences, which are key, important, crucial and essential public infrastructure projects. That an objector on the opposite side of Ireland can take these projects through the ringer and hold them up for years is wrong. It is fundamentally wrong and it needs to be urgently examined. There need to be some qualifying rules o…
Something that happens in Dublin has no relevance to my life. I would not dream in a month of Sundays of objecting to anything in Dublin. I cannot fathom why someone in Dublin would object to a key project in County Clare. The wind energy guidelines have been with the Department for a long time, since December 2019. I believe they are going to the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications. I ask that the Government gets the guidelines out, published and operational. The European Court of Justice made…
Abú.
Hear, hear.
Hear, hear.
Will they all get a house like the Deputy's?
Was he elected to the radio?
Sinn Féin councillors are objecting to houses in Bray. What is that about? It is a total contradiction.
But Sinn Féin councillors are going out objecting all the time.
Sinn Féin councillors are closing down houses right across Wicklow. Eighteen houses did not go ahead because of its councillors.
Fictional figures. Serial objectors.
The Deputy should look at the Sinn Féin councillors in Bray.
You objected to some housing.
