On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I ask Deputy Noel Grealish to move the motion, and I thank him for his dramatic entrance.

An Garda Síochána: Motion [Private Members]

I thank the Regional Group for the motion. I support the tenor of the motion, although there are one or two things it calls for which I do not agree with. I fully support what the Deputies are trying to do in putting the spotlight on the retention, recruitment, and morale problems, particularly in recognising that the morale in the force is declining and is currently at an all-time low. However, I quickly did a google search and the exact same thing was said in 2007 when Senator Michael McDowell was the Minister of…

I understand that Deputy Bríd Smith and Deputy Barry are next.

I have alternative instructions. I call Deputy Costello. It was just who was in the Chamber first.

Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Human Trafficking) Bill 2023: Second Stage

When the list comes up, I will call it out. The Deputies are further down. Deputy Costello is next.

Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Human Trafficking) Bill 2023: Second Stage

I will give the Deputy clarity. As I have it before me, we are on the second round of the debate and the first speaker in the second round is Deputy Costello.

Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Human Trafficking) Bill 2023: Second Stage

I am not having an argument with the Deputy. He is further down the list. He could be next if nobody comes in but at the moment, he is down the list. The only reason I was going to Deputy Barry and Deputy Bríd Smith first was because they were in the Chamber longer. That was the only reason.

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Táim ag díriú isteach ar chathair na Gaillimhe agus ar Chontae na Gaillimhe agus an ghéarchéim thithíochta atá ann, in ainneoin gur bunaíodh tascfhórsa in 2019. In ainneoin sin, níl aon tuarascáil chríochnúil againn fós ó thaobh anailíse de agus tá an ghéarchéim thithíochta ag éirí i bhfad níos measa. I ndáiríre, cuireann sé an spotsolas ar pholasaí an Rialtais. Tá teipthe aige go huile agus go hiomlán ó thaobh tithíocht a sholáthar. I am going back to Galway city and county in respect of the housing crisis. It is …

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

I remind myself daily of the salary I am earning and the privilege it is to stand here but it is increasingly difficult to listen to the narrative from the Taoiseach and the Government. Could they please let language mean something? I return to that theme over and over. There is no difficulty with these figures. This is the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage telling us that 26 houses were directly built by the city council in one year, and I gave the other figure for the county council. There are …
