On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

No, Deputy. Resume your seat.
No. Resume your seat. This is not helpful, especially given the context of your saying the debate should be free and should flow. This is not helpful. I am going to resume this. The Deputy has asked the Tánaiste to withdraw a comment. He said he will not do that. I am asking you now, Deputy, to resume in relation to this question because we are almost out of time.
Deputy Murphy, there is one Chair. Thank you.
As Chair, I have to ask the Tánaiste to reflect on the use of the phrase "putting the jackboot in". It is unparliamentary language. I do not think it is acceptable.
I am making a ruling now in relation to this matter. I have given great discretion in relation to robust debates. I would ask you to reflect on accusing Members of putting the jackboot in. I would ask you to withdraw it. That is all I would ask you to do, on reflection.
We will not add to it.
We are not having a debate on it, Tánaiste.
We are not going on to that.
We are having the words withdrawn. Thank you for your co-operation.
Faraor, tá orm an t-ionad lae atá fós dúnta i gcroílár na Gaeltachta sa Cheathrú Rua a ardú arís. Tá sé ardaithe go mion minic agam ach, faraor, níl aon rud athraithe ach amháin go bhfuil na critéir atá leagtha síos ag Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte i bhfad níos deacra anois. Tá sí ag rá nach bhfuil aon éileamh ann. Unfortunately, I have to once again talk about the closed day centre in Carraroe. It remains closed, three years on from the onset of Covid. I have almost a library of responses. They change by the…
I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Marc MacSharry - to discuss whether the Minister reaffirms the Government commitment to upgrade the N17 national primary route in line with Government policy as set out in the national planning framework and Ireland 2040. Deputy Dessie Ellis - to discuss the recent local authority tenancy rule change whereby married couples both require ten years' tena…
The Deputy welcomed his visitors, who are retired nurses. Most of them are women. I have never known women to retire. They work endlessly.
I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputies Darren O'Rourke and Johnny Guirke - to discuss the imminent risk of job losses at (details supplied). Deputy Paul Murphy - to discuss apartment and duplex defects. Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - to discuss the allocation of funding to schools with a large intake of students from refugees or asylum-seeking families post September. Deputy Marc MacSharr…
Baineann mo cheist leis na hoird rialta agus go háirithe leis na cáipéisí atá, faraor, fós i seilbh na n-ord seo. Tá an chosúlacht ar an scéal go bhfuil teipthe go hiomlán ar an Rialtas dul i ngleic leis an dúshlán na cáipéisí seo a chaomhnú agus a chosaint agus, níos tábhachtaí fós, iad a chur ar fáil do lucht acadúla agus don phobal. My question relates to what appears to be - forgive me if I am wrong - the complete failure of this Government and previous Governments to take action to preserve and protect the rec…
I thank the Taoiseach for answering my question, but this is an issue that this Government and previous Governments have dealt with. The Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes and Certain Related Matters was set up in 2015. Its report was published in 2021. The Government has to have considered this matter. It was raised by the Minister of State, Deputy Niall Collins, in respect of Limerick and the ongoing case relating to public and private records. It is an obscenity, or in the words of Fintan O’T…
Go raibh maith agat, a Theachta. We are out of time.
Was that the start of the election campaign?
I rarely disagree with my colleague Deputy Pringle, but he has got it wrong about Donegal being beautiful.
Not to mention Galway city. I welcome the opportunity to speak on this. I have the privilege of representing a very varied community from the Aran Islands, Inisbofin, Connemara, Galway city, right down south Mayo. The sterile debate between rural and urban is very worrying for me. It is boring but it is also worrying and dangerous in creating a divide where we all need to be together to face the challenges that affect all of us from housing to climate change. This is a five-year policy. One could not but praise thi…
