On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

That is enough. If the Deputy has any difficulty with that he can take it further and make whatever complaint he likes. I am now continuing-----

I am now suspending the Dáil once again because of disgraceful behaviour that is unacceptable. It is now nearly 5 p.m. I am suspending the Dáil.

Court Proceedings (Delays) Bill 2023: Second Stage (Resumed)

Fáiltím roimh an deis píosa cainte a dhéanamh maidir leis an mBille seo. Tá cuspóir aige córas cúitimh a chur ar bhonn reachtúil, maidir leis na cásanna coiriúla agus sibhialta, nuair atá moill míréasúnta i gceist. Tá sé tábhachtach a rá nach bhfuil an dara rogha ag an Rialtas ach an Bille seo a chur chun cinn go práinneach de bharr sraith cásanna, ag dul siar níos mó ná 20 bliain, ón Chúirt Eorpach um Cheart an Duine. Tá sé ráite go soiléir aici go bhfuil teip ar an Rialtas seo agus ar na Rialtais a tháinig roimhe…

Aquaculture Industry

My question specifically relates to a report. I am asking the Minister about the status of the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Aquaculture Development for the period 2021 to 2030. Where is the plan? Has it been published? If not, when will it be published and what are the reasons for the delay?

Aquaculture Industry

I thank the Minister for the clarification that the report is to be published at the end of the second quarter. The other plan ran out two and a half years ago and the Minister has still not given me an explanation for the delay in publishing this plan. It is very difficult to follow it. I took a particular interest in seaweed when I came in here, as did my colleagues, and a motion was passed by the majority of the Dáil which recognised the absence of a sustainable policy for the seaweed industry. That was 2018 and…

Aquaculture Industry

I welcome that. I also welcome the work of the former Minister of State, Deputy English, in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in relation to seaweed. My difficulty is that we have a Bord Iascaigh Mhara, BIM, report referring to and outlining a report that has not even been published and that we have not read. That is one difficulty. The second difficulty is that we are operating in a vacuum. Friends of the Irish Environment has drawn to our attention allegations in relation to unsustainable …

Biodiversity Action: Statements

I had the opportunity to speed read the Minister of State's presentation. I acknowledge his work to date on it and the very low base from which he takes the work. We are here making statements about climate change on biodiversity week, again. It is four or five years since we declared a climate and biodiversity emergency. The Minister of State has outlined some of the reports that highlight the crisis we are in. I represent a city and a rural area and I am absolutely in favour of rural and regional development. We …
