On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Island Communities

I very much appreciate the good news. As I said, it has taken 20 years to get the land. Let me concentrate on the good news that it is now in the Department's possession and the project will go to the HSE. The process should be completed by November. I will then be able to take this issue to a different Department, depending on what the electorate says, to ensure the health centre is built. I welcome that. The Minister of State probably does not have any idea what the plans of the HSE are in terms of when construct…

Again, there is a long history to the projects on both islands. Inis Meáin, in particular, has gone through phases 1, 2 and 3. I can tell the Minister of State about the level of frustration on the ground. We have certainly felt it as TDs. Regarding Inis Oírr, the county council is currently examining the tenders. Is a business case being prepared simultaneously? What is the position? When will that business case be submitted? Regarding Inis Meáin, did consultation on the feasibility study conclude on 20 September?…

I apologise to Deputy O'Sullivan. I did not realise the questions were grouped.

I am jumping all over the place because many Members are not here. We might be able to take Question No. 91 because Deputy Martin Kenny is present to introduce it on behalf of Deputy Ó Laoghaire. Likewise, Deputy Darren O'Rourke is here to introduce Question No. 93 and Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan is here to introduce Question No. 98.

Okay. We are in the same position regarding all the questions after that. We have Deputy O'Rourke and Deputy O'Sullivan in the Chamber. I understand the Minister of State's dilemma. Does Deputy O'Rourke want to refer briefly to Question No. 93?

By any stretch of the imagination, Question No. 98, in the name of Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan, was not expected to be reached.

Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation

I am glad the Tánaiste is here because I am raising once again the issue of Galway and the housing crisis. Back in February 2019, more than five years ago, a task force was set up, such was the seriousness of the problem and the emergency. I am on record as saying the housing crisis in Galway is worse than in Dublin. The Simon Community does quarterly reports. There are no properties available under HAP support schemes in each of the quarterly reports the Simon Community has done. We have had a task force sitting s…

South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan for Offshore Renewable Energy: Motion

I welcome the opportunity. As previous speakers have said, it is not my area but the concerns belong to all of us. I have serious concerns that this is developer driven. I will come back to that in relation to Sceirde off the coast of Connemara. It has to be welcomed that we have a plan. However, that plan is being done in a vacuum where only 9% of our marine areas are protected. I understand Minister of State, Deputy Noonan, expressed his frustration and disappointment only two days ago at the failure to progress …
