On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

If the Deputy sings the song she mentioned, I will give her a little extra time.

I ask the Deputy to restrict his references to the report.

Report of the Commission on the Defence Forces: Statements

I ask Deputies to refer to what is under discussion and not to stray too far from it. There is great latitude with that.

The Minister should let the Deputy continue.

Report of the Commission on the Defence Forces: Statements

I welcome the opportunity to take part in this discussion. I note the report highlights a "paucity of real debate on defence and security matters in [the] country" and that the commission "hopes...a more informed and grounded debate on these matters" will arise from it. I echo that but I will take it further in that there is a complete absence of a debate on grounding any talk about defence and increasing our military spending within the values we treasure and the articles of the Constitution that commit us to bein…

Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill 2022: Second Stage (Resumed)

I welcome the work done by the Department, the Minister and the committee on this legislation. I can see from what I have read the amount of work that has gone into it and the consideration. I welcome also that the Minister is open to all amendments, or all reasonable amendments. Clearly, this Bill, as has been said so many times, provides for the transposition of the EU directive into Irish law. That of course begs the question of why we had to wait for the directive. There was a review in 2018 that was very helpf…

Tackling the Cost of Living - Institutional Investors in the Residential Property Market: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members]

I must now deal with a postponed division relating to the motion concerning tackling the cost of living. On Tuesday, 15 February 2022, on the question, "That the amendment to the motion be agreed to", a division was claimed and in accordance with Standing Order 80(2), that division must be taken now.

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I draw the Taoiseach's attention to the crisis situation in Galway regarding the absence of respite beds and carers. I have an up-to-date position on the numbers. Pre Covid, we had 25 respite beds in the city and county; we now have four. There are four respite beds, post Covid, in the entire city and county. On carers, we now have 278 people on a waiting list who are assessed as needing urgent care. I am drawing this to the Taoiseach's attention, as I have previously. These are the up-to-date figures. Post Covid, …

Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill 2022: Second Stage (Resumed)

Go raibh maith agat. The Deputy's brevity has created a slight problem. We are going to move on slowly. There are a number of slots to come. The next slot is a Government one. There is nobody here just yet for that. After that there is a three-minute slot for Sinn Féin. I am not sure if there is anybody here for that. We will move on. I will not list all the slots.

That is okay. There is another Government slot in respect of which there is a name. We move to the Regional Group of Independents and Deputy Fitzpatrick. Is the Deputy sharing time?
