Before we begin, rather than me coming in and out, I ask Members to kindly keep to the time limits.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

We move on to Páirtí an Lucht Oibre. An Teachta Bacik, an ea? I dtús báire, ba mhaith liom comhghairdeas a dhéanamh leat, a Theachta. Ní bhfuair mé deis comhghairdeas a dhéanamh leat go hoifigiúil agus fáilte chroíúil don Dáil a chur romhat.
Táimid thar am.
There is no point of order.
Could we have a little respect for the Chair? In response to Deputy Griffin, that was not a point of order. It was an abuse of process. I ask the other Deputies to show a little respect. I am moving on from Leaders' Questions. I have made a ruling. It was not a point of order and is not acceptable. Bhí mé chun rud dearfach a rá. Tiocfaidh mé ar ais go dtí Reachtaíocht a Gealladh. Seo, mar is eol don Teach, an lá deireanach den Dáil agus beidh sí ar ais i mí Mheán Fómhair. Ba mhaith liom an deis seo a thapú chun mo …
Iarraim ar Bhaill cloí leis na rialacha ama.
Unusually, we have concluded before time. I forgot to mention the Garda Síochána so I am glad other Deputies did so.
Go raibh maith agat, a Theachta.
Before we finish, earlier today I noted that this is our final day of the session of this Dáil. It is also, as Deputy O'Callaghan has just pointed out, likely to be our final sitting here in the convention centre as it is expected we will make a full return to Leinster House in September. As many Deputies have said, there has been a significant disruption to the lives of Deputies and the staff in particular as well. It is important at this point to record our gratitude to the board and the staff of the convention c…
Some Deputies will be caught unawares because the debate has moved quickly. I will slowly move on through the next slots. Unfortunately, no one is here. I will ask the Minister of State to reply unless we have another speaker.
A division has been called. In accordance with Standing Order 80(2), the division is postponed until the weekly division time this evening.
Deputy Bacik talked about her distaste for the language, and I agree with her. She went on to talk about the contrast between the Seanad and the Dáil. She said there is a more collaborative approach in the Seanad. Perhaps she is ignoring the reality of what has happened here. We are getting an opportunity to discuss this because the Rural Independent Group has used its precious Private Members' time to allow us to have a discussion. Later today, a Bill which will become an Act, will be pushed through the Dáil and w…
Pre-legislative scrutiny is becoming a quaint memory, is it not? Legislation is being rammed through the Dáil with no pre-legislative scrutiny. I am here today and very conscious of the seriousness of Covid-19. It was announced that 783 people have it today, 73 people are in hospital of whom 20 are in ICU. That is an increase on yesterday. I was firmly behind a zero approach and make no apology for it but here we are, putting legislation through. As I said earlier today, we have now exposed the fallacy of us all be…
We are speaking to an amendment. There are time pressures and we have two speakers remaining.
I ask the Deputy to speak to the amendment, please.
Deputies Fitzmaurice and Conway-Walsh have indicated. I call Deputy Fitzmaurice.
We are discussing amendment No. 1.
The Minister has less than a minute to respond.
Please, Deputy. I gave you plenty of time. Let the Minister conclude.
The time permitted for this debate having expired, I am required to put the following question in accordance with an order of the Dáil of 13 July: "That in respect of each of the sections undisposed of, the section is hereby agreed to in committee; the preamble and the Title are hereby agreed to in committee; the Bill is accordingly reported to the House without amendment; Fourth Stage is hereby completed; and the Bill is hereby passed."
