On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan - To discuss the release of the HSE property in Mahon from the ambulance service to Cork City Council. Deputy Robert Troy - To discuss the survey published by Family Carers Ireland outlining deficiencies in the system. The matters raised by Deputies Pádraig O'Sullivan and Robert Troy have been selected for discussion.
I thank Sinn Féin for tabling this motion. I will zone in on the summer provision or, as it was called, July provision. I know there is another aspect to the motion. Indeed, one has always to give a context when speaking on disability. The report today, The State of Caring survey, is a damning indictment of the Government, notwithstanding the figures the Minister of State has given and notwithstanding her understanding of the frustration and the anger. We talk in terms of the millions provided. The reality on the g…
My question is very specific. It relates to the Minister's plans to reconsider the introduction of a cost-of-disability payment and the details of any engagement her Department has had with the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth on this matter.
I welcome that there is a major emphasis on disability, the establishment of the Cabinet committee and so on. I ask the Minister to forgive my frustration, which arises because the Indecon report was only one in a long series of reports over decades. I have an interest in looking at reports and tracing how we got to the current point. We have had a number of reports over decades. Twenty years ago, there was an Indecon report produced for the National Disability Authority. At that stage, the additional cost of disab…
Ireland signed the UNCRPD in 2007 and ratified it in 2008. We have utterly failed to ratify the optional protocol to the convention, which would allow people to take an action. For years, we have moved away from charity. I welcome changes the Minister has made, including the different bonuses that have been given. However, organisations working with people with disabilities have repeatedly said we need to move away from that model. They want a model of empowerment that enables people to live. That requires us to pr…
Rightly so.
Baineann an cheist seo leis an togra piolótach tithíochta atá faoi chaibidil ag Údarás na Gaeltachta agus, go háirithe, an teagmháil atá ag an Aire Stáit leis an Roinn agus leis an údarás faoin scéim seo, agus go háirithe fós, stádas forbartha an mhúnlaithe atá i gceist.
Tá cur síos ar an saghas comhairliúcháin agus taighde atá i gceist agus 250,000 i gceist. Is rud maith é go bhfuil taighde faoi chaibidil agus is rud maith é go bhfuil próiseas comhairliúcháin i gceist. Is é an rud a chuireann isteach orm ná go ndearnadh cinneadh sé mhí ó shin i bhfianaise na géarchéime atá ann sna Gaeltachtaí uilig ó thaobh cúrsaí tithíochta. Ag dul siar ar cheisteanna a chuir mé maidir leis An gCeathrú Rua, An Rinn agus Gaoth Dobhair, cuireadh in iúl dom go soiléir go raibh próiseas tosaithe ó th…
Is maith an rud é a chloisteáil go gcreideann an tAire Stáit go bhfuil ról lárnach ag Údarás na Gaeltachta agus creidim féin, Teachtaí Dála eile agus daoine ar an talamh é sin. Bhí siad i mbun agóide inné leis an ngrúpa BÁNÚ, Conradh na Gaeilge agus eagraíochtaí eile. Tá sé deacair a rá leo go leanúnach go bhfuilimid fós ag fanacht ar na treoirlínte pleanála ó thaobh na nGaeltachtaí de agus ar rud atá chomh bunúsach sin. Ag dul ar ais sé mhí ó shin, nuair a rinneadh cinneadh agus fógraíodh go mbeadh múnla nua tithí…
Táimid ar ais arís go dtí cúrsaí thithíochta sna Gaeltachtaí uilig agus go háirid faoin eagraíocht BÁNÚ. Tá a fhios agam go raibh cruinniú ag an Aire Stáit nó ag a Roinn leis an eagraíocht seo. An cheist atá á cur agam go díreach agus go sonrach ná an raibh cruinnithe eile ag an Aire Stáit leis an ngrúpa agus an bhfuil aon dul chun cinn déanta?
Gabhaim buíochas leis an Aire Stáit. Fáiltím go bhfuil sraith cruinnithe i gceist agus tugaim suntas go bhfuil an eagraíocht seo le teacht ar ais le tuilleadh fianaise. I ndáiríre, níl a fhios agam cén fáth a bhfuil tuilleadh fianaise i gceist. Tá sé ráite go mion minic ag gach Teachta Dála ar an taobh seo den Dáil go bhfuil géarchéim tithíochta i gceist. Tá mé ag breathnú anois ar na bhfocail a dúirt an tAire Stáit: “Tá na treoirlínte le foilsiú ag an Roinn tithíochta go luath”. Cé nach mbaineann sé sin leis an Ai…
Tá mé thar am. Tiocfaidh mé ar ais.
Tá muid ag súil leis an tríú rúnda Fatima, freisin. Tá muid ag fanacht agus ag fanacht agus tá sé ag éirí i bhfad níos deacra dul taobh amuigh den Dáil agus éisteacht leis an rud atá á rá acu. Ceapann siad nach bhfuil rud á dhéanamh againn. Chun é a ardú os comhar na Dála arís, tá mé i mo bhall den chomhchoiste Gaeilge, ar a bhfuil an Teachta Ó Snodaigh mar Chathaoirleach, agus bhí na córais áitiúla os ár gcomhair ó Ghaillimh, Maigh Eo agus ó gach contae ina bhfuil Gaeltacht. Bhí se soiléir go bhfuil easpa tuiscean…
Please, allow the Tánaiste to speak without interruption.
Through the Chair, please.
Go raibh maith agat.
I thank the Tánaiste.
I thank the Tánaiste. We are over time.
Deputies, please. I am moving on. Can we listen to each other with respect?
