Amendments Nos. 17 to 22, inclusive, 25, 26 and 29 to 31, inclusive, are related and will be discussed together.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I must now deal with a postponed division relating to the motion on neutrality and the triple lock, which took place on Wednesday, 29 May 2024. On the question, "That the amendment be made", a division was claimed, and in accordance with Standing Order 80(2), that division must be taken now.
Fillfidh mé ar cheist na Palaistíne. Cuirim fáilte roimh chinneadh an Rialtais aitheantas a thabhairt don Stát mar stát neamhspleách. Is céim chun cinn é sin ach tá gá le briathra eile agus le réimse leathan gníomhartha a dhéanamh anois chun beart a dhéanamh de réir ár mbriathar. I am returning to Palestine. It is difficult to talk, actually with the images on our television screens night after night. It is clear that Israel is out of control. The government and the army is out of control and they are acting with i…
I will finish. In the month after 7 October, the General Secretary of the United Nations told us that Gaza was becoming a graveyard for children and that the nightmare in Gaza was more than a humanitarian crisis; it was a crisis of humanity. Yesterday, he affirmed that there was no safe place in Gaza, demanding that the horror must stop. I apologise for going over time.
We have come to the point where we are recognising the State of Palestine, where there is very little left to recognise except the determination of the Palestinian people. Palestine has been bombed practically out of existence. The International Court of Justice last week issued a very strong order and Israel completely ignored that. Over the weekend, they dropped a 2,000 lb bomb supplied by the US - our friends, of course - and I understand a British air force Shadow spy plane was flying overhead at the time. Sinc…
I call the Minister of State, Deputy Higgins.
The Dáil is suspended for five minutes.
Visitors in the Gallery, I understand the strength of feeling and the significance of today, but I ask, please, for your co-operation as we continue. We will show our respect for the speakers, regardless of which side of the House they are on.
I welcome the opportunity to say a few words on this. I have just over three minutes so I want to be as precise as possible. First, I welcome the Palestinian ambassador, who in recent months has acted with utter professionalism in the face of genocide and the slaughter of her people. I have found her at every stage to be utterly professional while full of humanity in contrast to the spokespeople for the Israeli Government who on occasions have been given free rein on our media and exercised their right, which I que…
Sin críochnaíonn na ráitis. That concludes the statements. I acknowledge the presence of the soon-to-be-appointed ambassador from Palestine, the first ever. She has sat through this discussion for almost four hours, which is not easy to do given what is going on. I commend her on that.
Is that agreed? Agreed.
Members would appreciate receiving copies of the Minister of State's speech.
I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Mairéad Farrell - To discuss the provision of a special language class at Scoil Chaitríona, Renmore, Galway. Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - To discuss the closing of the pollock fishery and the collapse in shellfish prices for the inshore fishing industry. The matters raised by Deputies Mairéad Farrell and Pádraig Mac Lochlainn have been selected for d…
You do not have to take it.
Before we move on, I point out that Priority Questions are moving quicker than expected and we are now on Priority Question No. 3. Deputies should be forewarned.
Before the Minister comes in, there are a number of supplementary questions.
Deputy Bruton had his two supplementaries but he can make a comment if he likes because we are not under pressure.
