On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

General Practice and Local Health Services: Motion [Private Members]

Gabhaim buíochas leis an gCathaoirleach Gníomhach. Mo bhuíochas le Sinn Féin arís as an deis cainte seo a bheith agam chun cur síos a dhéanamh ar sheirbhísí leighis taobh amuigh de na hospidéil agus chomh lochtach is atá sé in ainneoin pholasaí an Rialtais le fada an lá. I thank Sinn Féin for the opportunity to speak on this motion. I did not think I was going to make it but I have. This is a practical motion that calls for action, for a task force to be set up and for a public contract for GPs to be developed. Of …

General Practice and Local Health Services: Motion [Private Members]

The Minister of State has; it is not pleasant. Somebody related to a person who works with me spent time on a trolley in a hospital in Dublin today and it was utterly chaotic. I have been a Member of the House since 2016 and nothing has changed. Representatives of HIQA attended the regional hospital last year. The hospital serves almost 1 million people. HIQA stated in March last year that the emergency department was grossly overcrowded. There were something like 27 people on trolleys at that time; today there are…

Renewable Energy Generation

As the Minister knows, I am following up this issue for some time. The question relates to community-led small-scale renewable projects. I ask him to give us an update on that mouthful – in terms of the date on which the export tariff phase of the small-scale renewable energy support scheme will be launched and the status of the work by the economic consultants for his Department regarding the revision of the levelised cost of energy estimates. That is a mouthful. We might come back to the language being used here.

Renewable Energy Generation

I raise with the Minister the language we are using. I am on his side in terms of what he is doing. I do not know how I could explain to anyone export tariff phase of the SRESS. We are talking about community-led renewable projects, either solar or wind. The Minister might clarify what we are talking about here. Is it just solar now in this new phase of involving the community? The previous two phases involved an auction base. I appreciate that has now been changed. I welcome that. There should never have been an a…

Renewable Energy Generation

I hope the change in the Acting Chair will benefit me in regard to the minute of speaking time allocated to me. Given the language, I wonder how we can sell this to communities. I believe communities have been ahead of us the whole way. The Minister knows from my experience with Galway that it led the approach to zero waste. We do not get governments to lead the community, which are crying out to lead. What they need is support. The language is awful. I do not know what it means and I cannot explain it. The Ministe…
