On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

EU Talent Pool: Motion

Does the Minister of State have cóip den oráid, a copy of the speech? Perhaps he would have it sent to us.

EU Talent Pool: Motion

Is féidir linn bogadh ar aghaidh anois go dtí Sinn Féin. An bhfuil an Teachta Pa Daly ag roinnt a chuid ama leis an Teachta Louise O'Reilly?

EU Talent Pool: Motion

I will wait for a minute before the Minister of State concludes because some speakers were in the Chamber and left, having assumed other speakers were going to come in.

I do not see any Members rushing into the debate, so I call the Minister of State to conclude.

EU Talent Pool: Motion

We are about to conclude the debate, but if the House agrees, I will let Deputy Shanahan contribute, although the Minister of State will not be coming back in to reply. The Deputy is, however, welcome to make a contribution.

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I welcome the announcement today that the mother and baby institutions payment scheme will finally open on 20 March and that the Government expects payments to be paid out in the second quarter. I welcome it, albeit with a delayed start of that application. Related to that will the Minister please clarify where he is in relation to the special mediator, Ms Sheila Nunan, who was appointed in May of last year around the negotiations with the religious orders? Is a report ready in relation to that? Will the money that…

Recent Arson Attacks: Statements

I welcome the opportunity. I thank the Minister for staying in the Chamber for the duration of this important debate. Between November 2018 and February 2024, there have been 22 incidents of arson and nobody has been convicted. I welcome that the Minister said in her speech that the Garda is taking an active approach and that some people have been arrested. However, for the attacks in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, there have been no convictions. We gave free rein to the idea that a building can be burnt down, wh…

Family Law Cases

I have to caution the Deputy. He is asking the Minister to give an opinion but he is straying into accusations about the courts system. I understand the issue he is raising, which is important, but I ask him to be careful in the way he is putting it.

Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation

I want to raise the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 and in particular, section 4, which places a statutory obligation on the Government to carry out a review within three years. Three years after enactment the Government did its job in the sense that it appointed an independent person, Ms Maura Butler, in July 2020. She was to conclude her review and to report within three months but that is almost four years ago now. That has not happened for various reasons, one being that Ms Butler had been appointed to …

Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024: Second Stage (Resumed)

Fáiltím roimh an mBille seo. Is Bille dearfach é an Bille Sláinte (Forálacha Ilghnéitheacha), 2024. Tá an Bille ag díriú isteach ar dhá rud ach go háirithe: fáil réidh leis an tástáil maoine i leith ioncam ó sheomra atá curtha ar cíos agus tuilleadh cumhachtaí a thabhairt do phoitigéirí na tíre. Is maith an rud é sin. Gabhaim buíochas arís leis an leabharlann as ucht an iris eolais a chuir sé ar fáil. Tá sé an-suimiúil agus cuireann sé gach rud i gcomhthéacs. Gabhaim buíochas leis an leabharlann as sin. I will not …
