I thank the Deputy. I call the Taoiseach to respond.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 449 decisive votes (2 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I thank the Deputy. I call the Taoiseach to respond.
There are several contributors, so they have up to one minute. I call Deputy Boyd Barrett.
Next is Deputy Boyd Barrett, who is sharing time with Deputy Barry.
I have to say that I am disappointed. We should be here today with one voice and one motion that should unequivocally condemn the actions of Israel. Of course, I am on the record as condemning Hamas, but we are way beyond that now. The figures have been mentioned already. Some 25,295 Palestinians have been killed. Just yesterday, four Palestinians were struck and killed as they were trying to recover corpses in Khan Younis, and so on. We stand here today with a speech from the Tánaiste and a motion that bears no re…
In accordance with Standing Order 80(2), the division is postponed until the weekly division time tomorrow evening.
I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Christopher O'Sullivan - To discuss reducing the rate of VAT to 9% for food items in the hospitality sector. Deputy Niamh Smyth - To discuss the number of training scheme doctors and interns being assigned to Cavan General Hospital. Deputy Maurice Quinlivan - To discuss the record number of patients treated on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick t…
I also thank Sinn Féin for tabling the motion. I welcome the opportunity to speak on it. I agree with almost all of it. I welcome that Sinn Féin wants to bring forward measures to effectively ban investment funds and many of the other things set out in the motion but I have great concerns about the use of emergency planning and procurement powers so I will reserve my position on that. In contrast with the Rural Independent Group, I have not come across anybody who has made an objection or complaint. What people mak…
I am just trying to keep up to date with the amount that we are giving to Ukraine one way or another. What is the total military aid given by the EU to Ukraine since February 2022? Will the Tánaiste give us the details of the contributions given by Ireland to date, the details of the contribution given by Ireland towards the common costs of the EU military assistance mission in support of the Ukraine, and the detail of any contributions or donations made by the Defence Forces here?
I thank the Tánaiste for the reply. I am struck by the forceful nature of the language. I have condemned Russia out of hand for its illegal invasion. In the face of Russia's illegal and unjustified war of aggression, I have never heard the same terminology regarding Israel's attack on the Palestinian people. That is the first thing to note. The second thing to note is that the Tánaiste is telling me the EPF has given €5.6 billion in military assistance. It is a misnomer to call this a peace facility. Can one imagin…
I believe that war is an existential threat.
What is happening in the Middle East is very threatening but we do not use the same language. We are an independent republic. We are an independent sovereign state and we are neutral. We should use our voice to bring peace in the world. That is what we should be doing. I am desperately trying to see among this large figure of €67.7 billion what it is that Ireland is contributing while we dance on the top of a needle saying we are not providing military support and we are giving non-lethal aid. This is the difficult…
Maybe I am wrong-----
I will be the first to say sorry if I am. If the Tánaiste looks at the figures that I am looking at, he will see that €67.7 billion is the figure for EU solidarity with Ukraine.
I thank the Deputy.
It is Deputy Wynne who is next and then-----
We are running out of time. I call Deputy Wynne.
We are out of time. I will just let this item conclude. I will allow the Tánaiste in for a very brief comment.
I know, please-----
Go raibh maith agat.
I thank the Tánaiste. I have stretched the time as far as I can.
