The Minister is not telling the truth. He closed down the unit in Tralee.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 212 of 712 decisive votes (3 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

The Minister is not telling the truth. He closed down the unit in Tralee.
We will not listen to rubbish.
Why did the Government close down Tralee?
Answer that.
Why did the Government close it down?
Tralee has been closed down.
He is dodging the answer.
Who will answer it? Is he in charge or not?
This is not a comedy. Tralee is closed down.
They are not at fault at all. The Minister is at fault.
The Minister does not respect them.
I welcome the provisions for the ladies who reach the menopause age and they are very welcome. I hope it will be of benefit to all of them. I have other questions on the nurses protesting outside the hospital in Tralee today. I understand it is because of the embargo that started last November which is still carrying on. A girl who came home last March after a career break-----
I will finish now.
All of this is relevant to providing a service. If we do not have the nurses or GPs on board we cannot operate the service. The main question is why the Minister closed the ophthalmology unit in Tralee general hospital. There are 800 people on the waiting list there. If someone gets hit in the eye or something steel or whatever goes into someone's eye, and there are accidents happening every day of the week, where are they to go now? The Government cut off the insurance and cancelled the insurance for that unit in …
I am glad to get the opportunity to talk again on this Bill that does not make any sense. The people who fought for our country back in 1916, over 100 years ago, were glad that one of the things they fought for was freedom of speech and the freedom to express an opinion. There seems to be a different emphasis now rather than having a focus on those two vital aspects of having commonsense laws and of being fair and just to the people we represent. The last time this Bill came before the House, our group was against …
I thank them for that.
The Bill that passed in 1989 passed because it was explained thoroughly what the Members of the House were voting for and it was done in the right way. This Bill before us is putting in no limits or restrictions and what things the Government is hinting at. It is an open book. The people of Ireland do not trust those in the Government enough to give them an open book, and that is what it is asking for in this debate. It is not explaining fully what the Bill will mean for all of the different areas and it is limitin…
I did not mention hatred. I did not interrupt Deputy Murphy.
None of us condones hatred of any creed or description. It can be interpreted differently when the laws are being enforced due to the Government not explaining thoroughly what it is actually hitting at. It is covering everything with this. We do not know what we cannot say or what we can do, but the Government will find a way to cover it. Then, a fellow will pay the piper if the tune does not suit. I cannot see how the Government expects to ram this through tonight or how it can be fair. Those in the Government are…
The Greens say it.
