On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 212 of 712 decisive votes (3 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Protect the people too.
Will the carbon tax change it?
It changed every----
He put on me first.
It is serious.
It rained before. Do not be telling lies.
There is if you are trying to walk from Valentia Island to Kenmare.
They will all be out until six o'clock in the morning.
That is what is left to me. I, too, wish the Taoiseach well in his role for the sake of the people of the country. I wish him well for that, but I cannot forget the nasty answer he gave me a few months ago when I asked a question on behalf of the people of Killarney. They will not forget it either. I hope the Taoiseach will take a different line when he answers questions in future. I have very little time. I ask the Taoiseach and the Government to do more for farmers. This supposed help to transport bales from more…
I thank the Ceann Comhairle. New valuation figures for commercial rates and properties in County Kerry became effective on 1 January 2024. This has meant a massive increase for many ratepayers, with the demands received in recent days double, treble and even four times the amounts they normally paid back over the years. Many traders appealed the increased valuations by the due date in October 2023. Approximately 260 appeals are still with the Valuation Office. Many others, however, have yet to appeal and are in the…
All right, but this is very serious for the people-----
I too thank Sinn Féin for bringing forward this motion. We proposed a similar motion four weeks ago. It is important because so many areas, including Killarney and areas in south Kerry, are under pressure for GPs. Those areas are losing doctors. Even more people are being brought into the area but there is no other doctor to cater for those extra people. We are talking about different ways to help GPs. Going back in time, I remember when there was a doctor's residence and dispensary in every parish. Deputy Micheál …
I wish to raise the serious predicament in which many farmers find themselves as a result of continuous pressure from the Green Party Ministers in the Government. The first thing is the proposed 25% reduction in emissions, resulting in a cull of 200,000 cows by 2030. Then there is the cost of carbon tax. Then we have the Chinese boasting that they will be increasing their herd by over 1 million cows this year. The nature restoration Bill was passed in the EU Parliament on 27 February and was supported by all Govern…
Some farmers in the Golden Vale and places like that will survive. The places I am talking about have poorer soils. Many smaller farmers are going to be wiped out. What they cannot understand is - and we are all under the one sky - how the Chinese can increase their dairy herd by 1 million cows this year alone and how countries in South America can also increase the size of their herds and can cut down the Amazon forest. How is it that all that is happening under the same sky? The Chinese can increase the size of t…
There will not be any more. They are out of it now.
It is not an exaggeration; it is the truth.
The Tánaiste says he travels the world. He does, but he would want to travel a bit more around his own country, his own county of west Cork and Kerry as well. He should stay at home a bit more and maybe he would know a bit more about what is going on.
I have only a minute but there are a few things that need to be recognised. On voids, there is a house in the heart of the town of Killarney that has been vacant for five years. The Department is refusing to fund the €110,000 needed to bring that house back into use. That is only one of them. This rule where tenants cannot purchase a county council house if it was built after 2015 is nonsensical. If the people are willing to purchase the house, they have pride in their house, they want to keep it and they want to s…
I will ask the Minister of State a number of very serious questions. He is the Minister of State at the Department of Transport and there is a new regulation after being sent out whereby young drivers driving most vehicles will have to have an artic licence to cover them while driving. Does he realise the implications of this for young people who are trying to get going? What he is saying is that they can drive when they are transporting farm produce but they cannot operate without having an artic licence if they a…
