I second the amendment.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 9 of 305 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I move amendment No. 104: In page 82, between lines 12 and 13, to insert the following: "(2A) Provision made for the purpose referred to in subsection (2)(d) may prohibit the inclusion in programmes of commercial communications relating to foods or beverages including alcohol products considered by the Commission to be the subject of public concern in respect of the general public health interests of children.".
I thank the Minister and her Department for their work on this Bill. It is a massive and complex piece of legislation, and there have been many amendments submitted by Senators. They have worked very hard. I hope they can rest and recuperate over the recess. I also thank the Minister for her consideration of many of the amendments tabled on Committee Stage and her production of amendments that satisfy people's concerns regarding some of the issues raised. I am very pleased that there are Government amendments that …

I concur with the comments made about the guillotine. It is shocking in our democracy and should not be allowed. I want to raise the progress of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) (Amendment) Bill 2022 progress through this House. The Minister, Deputy O’Gorman, stated that he now believes it will be impossible to progress the Bill through all Stages in the Seanad before the recess. It is hard to express how I feel about this development. I welcome his commitment to examine the points raised by Deputies Ward, C…
I support my colleague, Senator Flynn, in her call for a debate on Traveller education. It is vital. On my behalf and that of Senator Flynn, I welcome the new mayor of Waterford, Joe Kelly, and his wife, to the House. They are very welcome. I congratulate the organisers of last Saturday's Pride parade. It is always so beautiful and exciting to see thousands of people marching together, celebrating the wonderful and great diversity, creativity and resilience of Irish LGBT people. I also salute all my colleagues who …
I move amendment No. 1: In page 4, to delete lines 3 to 9.
This amendment seeks to delete section 3(b), which amends section 34(12A) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, by substituting "an application in respect of the following development shall be deemed not to have required, and not to require, a determination as to whether an environmental impact assessment is required" for "if an application for permission had been made in respect of the following development before it was commenced, the application shall be deemed not to have required a determination referred t…
I move amendment No. 4: In page 4, line 33, after “land” to insert “, for a related purpose,”.
Amendment No. 4 seeks to add a condition to the provision in the Bill that a person who applies for substitute consent in respect of a development of land can also apply for permission for substitute consent for adjoining land. The condition our amendment would add is that the development on adjoining land must be for a purpose related to the original development. This is to ensure that people can only apply for substitute consent on adjoining land where substitute consent has also been sought for similar developme…
