On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 28 of 273 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Yes.
One article is addressing the issue of closing the back door and the other one addressing the issue of the changing security concerns of the UK because of our failure to provide proper defence for this island. That party might read these articles and it might awaken a few things.

I will not take any lectures-----
I am not speaking to the Cathaoirleach but I will not take lectures from people who were terrorists on this island and who terrorised my mother and my father back in 1974. Do not give me any of that rubbish.
Getting back to the Order of Business, Articles 18 and 19 of Bunreacht na hÉireann deal with the elections of the Seanad and I ask the Leader to organise a debate with the Minister on the next election for the Seanad. Every day, I sit in here and hear some small few colleagues talking about their constituency. We do not have a constituency. We are national politicians. This is a revising and reforming House and we do not have a geographical constituency. We need to get away from that. We are not even supposed to ha…
The Leas-Chathaoirleach has extended the no-homework rule. It used to be for just one night.
I, too, welcome the Estonian ambassador. I note for the record the amount of work she has done in supporting an initiative I launched approximately two years ago in the area of cybersecurity, including awareness and training. The assistance we have had from Tallinn has been second to none. I thank her very much for her efforts. It is interesting that we have members of the European Court of Auditors in today. One of the things they might do is look at public procurement in Ireland. Any time we try to question it---…
Well, the Court of Justice will do fine too.
They might look at it, too. We might bring it to them there. My apologies. The information leaflet for the referendum arrived in my house yesterday. I am absolutely disgusted by it. It gives no clear indication of what is involved. Minister after Minister has gone out telling the people about what it is going to do for families, yet the legal advice is that it will cause more confusion than anything else. Indeed, one of our colleagues on the Government side pointed out on Virgin Media One that people in durable rel…
The Minister of State and the ambassadors of Ukraine and Lithuania are welcome to the House. The Ukraine war has been ongoing for two years now and we constantly see some images, but let us be honest, the Ukraine war has slipped down in media importance, if you like. We are seeing more from Gaza now than from Ukraine and one wonders whether we swing to the latest, greatest war, wherever it is. We have to be realistic about this. More than half a million people are currently casualties of this horrible war that no o…
I, too, send my condolences to the family of Michael O'Regan. I met him only a few days before he passed away at SuperValu in Ballinteer. He was as feisty as ever and in great form. Everything the Cathaoirleach said about him epitomises the man he was. He would always stop and have a chat in the corridors of Leinster House. Reading the British newspapers this morning, I must conclude that if there is an annual prize for political hypocrisy, we can close the nominations for 2024 right now. Nothing or no one could be…
I second the amendment.

I just want to say a few brief words. The Minister of State is a proud Limerick man. I have known him for many years. This is a great day for him. He is driving home a Bill for an elected mayor in his city, one of the finest cities in Ireland. I know him from way back. His commitment to Limerick was never in question at any time. He has taken amendments on board and modified the Bill slightly from where it started. I believe he will have made a much better position for the mayor of Limerick. I congratulate him. I a…
I am so delighted I left. Seriously, this is a fantastic day's work for the Minister of State. I congratulate him on a great day's work. I am delighted that he was the Minister of State to drive this forward.
I suppose they are in County Tipperary.
