This Thursday.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 236 of 237 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

This Thursday.
I can say next Tuesday if Senators want.
I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Browne, back to the House; he was here less than an hour ago. We will now deal with No. 2, motion regarding the Offences against the State (Amendment) Act 1998, and No. 3, motion regarding the Criminal Justice (Amendment) Act 2009. Both motions will be debated together and decided separately. I call on the Acting Leader to move No. 2 regarding the Offences against the State (Amendment) Act 1998.
I thank the Acting Leader for outlining the business. The ambassador has gone at this stage but, equally, I wish her and all the people from Luxembourg a very happy national day. Senator Mullen was making a pitch for a gift from the ambassador. I am actually wearing a gift from the ambassador. It is the tie of the Luxembourg European Presidency from a number of years ago. I will not, therefore, make a pitch for any other gifts today. In the week that is in it, I want to pay tribute to Deputy Eamon Ryan, who is step…
I thank the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence for being here. I am pleased to be able to speak to this Bill on behalf of my colleague, Senator Diarmuid Wilson, who is a long-time spokesperson on defence. He has a son now serving in the Army, so he is very interested in the topic. While I am also interested, I do not have the same level of experience-----
I am only about a quarter of a page in, so for the benefit of the Minister of State, I will start again. I am sure I will not use my ten minutes anyway. I thank the Minister for Defence and his acting Minister on defence, Deputy Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, who is very welcome. I am pleased to be able to speak to this. I am speaking on behalf of Senator Wilson, who is our Seanad defence spokesperson and has a son serving in the Army, so he is very involved with the topic. I would not speak on this area too often but …
Nobody would ever say that about the Senator.
It is a maximum, not a target.
The Minister of State is just very welcome here.
Next Tuesday.
Tomorrow at 10.30 a.m.
Amendments Nos. 8 and 9 are related and may be discussed together by agreement. Is that agreed? Agreed.
And Senators Boylan and O'Reilly.
Sorry, a Chathaoirligh.
Based on the figures, Fianna Fáil might just be the largest party, with Fine Gael very close behind. The party is, therefore, a little ahead of the Independents, mathematically at least.
I am glad the Cathaoirleach is reminding us now rather than when the speaker before last was contributing. It is fair to raise the matter in the day and week that is in it, particularly given that at least five Members of this House, as Senator O'Loughlin outlined, ran in the European elections. We wish Senator Chambers the very best. Well done to her on her performance. We may not see much of Senator Doherty based on the figures and, possibly, Senator Boylan. Senators Gavan and Pauline O'Reilly also ran. I pay tri…
I welcome to the House the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Deputy Emer Higgins. Before we commence, I remind Senators that a Senator may speak only once on Report Stage, except the proposer of an amendment, who may reply to discussion on the amendment. Each amendment must be seconded. Amendments Nos. 1 and 2 are related and may be discussed together. Is that agreed? Agreed.
Before I put the question, I welcome to the Visitor's Gallery our guests from the school of law at Duquesne University, Pennsylvania. They are welcome to Seanad Éireann and Leinster House. We hope they are having a good time in the Houses of the Oireachtas and in Ireland. They are very welcome. I hope they enjoy their day.
Amendment No. 3 is in the name of Senators Higgins, Ruane, Black and Flynn. It arises out of committee proceedings. Senator Higgins will need a seconder.
We will go from Senator Higgins to the Minister of State, Deputy Higgins. The Minister of State can go ahead.
