On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 236 of 237 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

Like Senator Murphy, I wish those getting their junior certificate results the very best. As someone who has been on many school boards of management over the past 20 years, I know that, while it may not be as important as it used to be, it is a very good practice run for the leaving certificate. Those who went into the leaving certificate having never done the junior certificate as a result of the Covid pandemic may have found it a bit more daunting. I wish those students well with their results today. There were …

Public Order and Safe Streets: Statements

I thank the Minister of State for his comprehensive opening statement and measured approach to where we are. Evidence that is not just anecdotal, although much of it is anecdotal, shows that there is, particularly in Dublin but also in the rest of our urban centres, concern about night-time activity, public transport and safe streets. Ireland's Military Neutrality: Motion [Private Members]

I am not asking Senator Craughwell to shut up. I am telling the Senator his time is up. It is the same thing, though, if the Senator could resume his seat.

Ireland's Military Neutrality: Motion [Private Members]

Before I call the Minister, I welcome to the Visitors Gallery the leaving certificate class of Synge Street of 1974. One of the class is well known to many of us here, the former Captain of the Guard in these Houses, Mr. John Flaherty. I welcome back John and welcome all of his colleagues and friends from his class. I hope they have a nice evening here. I wish them all the best this evening and into the future.

I would have welcomed them, if I had known they were here. They are welcome also.

This is the Minister's own fault, by the way.

I will be told when the bells stop and we will have to let the Minister go at that stage. We are nearly there.
