On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 634 of 639 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Speaking of myths, that myth is one issue. Two minutes per Member might become another part of the folklore.
I thank Senator McGahon for being on time.
I am sure the Senator will join with me in wishing your good wife Breege, a native of Kildare, a very happy St. Brigid's day.
Senator Conway will get lots of kudos at home for that. I welcome to the Visitors Gallery, Amanda Carney who works in the Seanad Office and who is a very valued member of staff, along with her mum Agatha Carney and her aunt, Beatrice Lavin. You are very welcome. I hope you have a very good visit to Leinster House today. Cuirim fáilte romhaibh. I now call on Senator Craughwell, who is not a Brigid, but he is very welcome.
I now call on the Leader to reply.
Cuirim fíorfháilte roimh na daltaí agus na múinteoirí agus roimh chairde an tSeanadóra Clonan as Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch, Baile Munna, agus an Bráthair John Ledwidge as Artane. Tá fíorfháilte roimh gach duine.

Before I call on Senator Higgins I welcome the Youthreach group from Rush in County Dublin who are here with the teacher, Christine. They are guests of the Deputy Leader of the House, Senator Doherty. They are very welcome and I hope they have a good visit.

That is fine.
Dia daoibh, a chairde. I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters: Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on the extension of the 9% tourism VAT rate. Senator Aisling Dolan - The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on the roll-out of the Connecting Ireland rural mobility plan. Senator Aidan Davitt - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for local government and planning to update t…
Before I call Senator Casey, I welcome Mr. Leighton MacRéamoinn and Mr. Dylan Freeman from Cóláiste Chillian to the Public Gallery. I hope they have a very beneficial tour of Seanad Éireann as guests of Senator Lynn Boylan.
I call Senator Keogan next.
We remember Ann Lovett. I think Christy Moore, in his wonderful, powerful song commemorated her life as well. I thank the Senator. I call Senator Flynn.
I commend Senator Flynn on her courage today again in speaking up and challenging that behaviour. She should be able to carry out her duties as a public representative without fear of prejudice, discrimination, harassment or any type of intimidation. There will be a Committee on Parliamentary Privileges and Oversight meeting tomorrow. The Leader and I will talk afterwards about measures we can perhaps take to support all Members of the House in doing their work. It is something we should be vociferous on. I thank t…
You have the full support of the Cathaoirleach, as all Members of the House do and did when the Leas-Chathaoirleach was the Cathaoirleach, in ensuring we all do our work without fear. I will be happy to talk to the Senator again on that matter. I call Senator Cassells.
