On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 634 of 639 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I welcome the Minister of State and the Bill. As many Members have said, it is important legislation given the gargantuan impact that Covid-19 has had on our SMEs. They are run by people we all know in our communities such as the hairdresser, the restaurant, the cafe and the play centre. Senator Kyne and the Acting Chairman also referenced various communities. It is important that access to finance be made available. I concur completely with Senator Murphy that there cannot be red tape. There must be prompt immedia…
I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Niall Collins, to the House and congratulate him on a personal level on his elevation to the role. He comes to the position with a very fine background and I wish him every success. This is a very important Bill. I wish to declare my vested interest up front as a former director of adult education. I am a huge advocate of continuing further and higher education. This Bill is not about creating a Department or a Ministry for Ministers. I ask that Sinn Féin stop that rhetoric, …
I acknowledge the work of the former Minister, Mr. Donogh O'Malley, but I have to pay tribute to-----
I have to pay tribute to the rainbow Government led by the former Taoiseach, Mr. John Bruton, which abolished third level fees, as the Senator knows, and to Ms Mary Mitchell O'Connor as well. This is an important day and we will not have a political row.
I say to Senator Mullen that the old times have not gone away, you know. He too could be part of the good times as well. The Minister of State's legacy in politics will be defined by this challenge. He has a great opportunity to leave an imprint on the social dividend of our country. Senator Ruane has been a huge exponent and deserves not patronising accolades but real, meaningful thanks for the way she has told us all through her life that we can aspire to be who we are, as Maslow says. That is what this is about …
I join Senator O'Reilly in asking the Leader to facilitate a rolling debate on Covid-19 from a number of perspectives. In particular, it is imperative that Ministers come before the House in advance of the stimulus plan so we can have an input into it aside from being asked for our ideas and suggestions. I concur with Senator Mullen regarding the issue of Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is important that we have a debate on our one China policy. In particular, it is important that we have a debate on the human rights abus…
As there are no other speakers indicating, I ask the Minister to reply.
When is it proposed to take Committee Stage?
No. It is to be taken now.
Is that agreed? Agreed.
The Senator recovered very well.
Amendments Nos. 2 and 3, in the name of Senator Higgins, are out of order as they are not relevant to the subject matter of the Bill.
How stands the amendment?
When is it proposed to take Report Stage?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
Does the Minister want to make any concluding remarks?
When is it proposed to sit again?
